To kick things off, we would like to highlight one of the key areas that contribute to a healthy, respectful, and nurturing learning environment: our Expectations and Consequences.

At Mirniyan Primary School, we believe that clear and simple expectations are essential in creating a positive and respectful school culture. Our students are beginning to fully understand and embrace these expectations, which are designed to help them grow into respectful individuals. Personally, I often wish I had these guidelines when raising my own children—such clear stepping stones to respect make a world of difference!

When students are not meeting these expectations, we have a clear, consistent system of consequences that helps guide them back on track. These are simple, manageable, and, importantly, help our students recognize what they need to do to improve. The best part? Our students are now able to articulate these expectations and understand what they need to do to follow them.

You’ll find our Expectations and Consequences displayed across all learning spaces in the school. This visible reminder reinforces the consistent framework we have in place to cultivate respect, responsibility, and a sense of community in every classroom.
